Tissue Mineral Analysis

Why use Tissue Mineral Analysis?

When someone is ill but no explanation can be found, or when the cause seems to be found but therapy is not wholly effective, tissue mineral analysis has the ability to determine a patient’s biochemical deficiencies and ‘explain’ to and assist patients in achieving optimum health.

Even if a patient is not currently experiencing a health condition, abnormal changes in body chemistry and nutritional deficiencies may result in subtle early changes in the body such as:

  • White spots on the fingernails (zinc deficiency)
  • Longitudinal ridging nails (iron deficiency)
  • Brittle hair and nails (copper/calcium imbalance)
  • Stretch marks (zinc deficiency)
  • Lack of growth (zinc deficiency)
  • Mood swings (possible toxic metal accumulation, such as lead, mercury, or cadmium)

Common Causes of Mineral Imbalance

  • Improper diet (such as excessive intake of refined carbohydrates and sugars, or “exclusive diets” such as Atkins)
  • Taking vitamins and minerals which are incompatible with the body’s natural chemistry
  • Medications
  • Birth control pills
  • Stress
  • Accumulation of toxic metals from the environment, job, or hobby
  • Inheritance of mineral patterns from parents

Tissue Mineral Analysis Screenings

Please see our TMA Instructions document.

For patients undergoing TMA screening, fill out the TMA Questionnaire. Please remember to only mark symptoms that you are currently experiencing!

Initial Analysis (Profile 2): Lab Test & Complete Interpretation

This includes the entire mineral assay test provided in Profile 1 (below), plus a thorough interpretative work-up that lists trends, provides a detailed explanation of the results, along with vitamin and mineral supplementation recommendations, and compares significant mineral ratios.

Follow-up Analysis (Profile 1): Lab Test Only

This is the basic assay that shows the mineral levels and ratios. A chart is provided that contains a graphical interpretation of his/her test results. A comparative analysis is provided between Profile 2 and Profile 1, with updated recommendations for vitamin and mineral supplementation.
